Description

The Irrigatia Seep Hose Extension Kit - 12m is a water-saving extension kit for your Irrigatia Solar watering system. The seep hose extension kit is the ideal addition to your garden with an Irrigatia solar water system, it is a porous hose that slowly seeps water onto your soil, ensuring it is always moist, without unnecessarily wetting the foliage of your plants.

The Irrigatia seep hose is ideal for smaller gardens, where your plants need a constant but slow supply of water. This is a water savvy kit, as it only seeps directly into the soil, reducing evaporation, and preventing overwatering of any of your sensitive plants. Seep hoses are best suited to flat planting beds, and cannot be buried, however they can be covered in a light mulch to prevent even more evaporation, and save more water.

There are two suggested ways to set up your seep hose extension kit. The first is using up to 1 metre of seep hose pushed onto the drippers supplied with the main unit. A stopper should be put on the other end and stakes can be used to hold it in position. This arrangement can be used to spread water over a larger area than the dripper alone and is useful for large pots/baskets, germinating short rows of seedlings, and burying the roots of valuable plants to aid establishment. Drippers can be at different heights, but the individual lengths of seep hose must be kept level.

Alternatively, the connectors provided can be used to connect up to 6m of seep hose to the pump. The seep hose must be kept level and can be staked into position. This is useful for beds and rows of vegetables. It is possible to lay several lengths of seep hose but just connects the lengths most needing watering, or move the connection on each day to provide watering for 2 - 7 beds/rows from 1 pump depending on water requirements.
