The Marto Traditional Tanto Sword - Black is decorative Japanese Tanto, part of the high quality exclusive collection 'Oriental Weapons' made by Marto. Some of the finest swords available on the market today, a prized possession for any collector of today as it would have been for any warrior of the ancient past, usually worn by the 'Samurai' class or 'chonin' class, including merchants in feudal Japan, on the left side, secured to the waist sash.
The guard/tsuba, the collar/fuchi, the pommel/kashira and the ornamental menuki are made in silver plated metal with the handgrip textured to depict the original detail of rayskin. The Marto Tanto is a fully tempered, slightly curved, one-edged AISI 440 Stainless Steel blade, polished and detailed, making it virtually maintenance free.
A traditional black Tanto, measuring 18" in overall length, presented in a custom, austere, black lacquered scabbard/saya, with a black knob/kurikata and black cord wrapped around the handgrip/ito.
