The PetSafe® Deluxe Outdoor Bark Control works by emitting an ultrasonic sound whenever your dog or your neighbour’s dog barks within 15 m of the unit. When the unit’s built in microphone detects barking it automatically emits a sharp ultrasonic sound that startles the dog and disrupts their bark cycle. They find the tone to be unpleasant or irritating. They quickly learn to associate their barking with this tone and stop all unnecessary barking in the affected area. The ultrasonic tone is completely safe and effective.

The ultrasonic tone is projected outward from the speaker on the front of the unit in a cone shape of about 150 degrees. The unit can be hang from its metal hanger or used as a stand alone unit. It is recommended that the unit should not be hung higher than 1,5m.

The biggest advantage of the Deluxe Outdoor Bark Deterrent compared to the standard Outdoor Bark Deterrent is the built in timer. The Deluxe Outdoor Bark Control includes a timer with two OFF/ON settings per 24 hour period. Using the timer extends battery life and also helps prevent dogs from becoming desensitized to the ultrasonic sound.
