The Root'd H009 Rocket - 200 Seeds is a pack of bright colour flowering seeds just waiting to be planted and eaten. The Rocket, also known as arugula or rucola, is a leafy green vegetable with a distinctive peppery flavour. It belongs to the Brassicaceae family and is native to the Mediterranean region. Rocket leaves are characterized by their deep green colour, with elongated, lobed shapes resembling small oak leaves. The flavour of rocket leaves is slightly spicy, with a nutty undertone, giving it a unique and bold taste profile.
Rocket is a versatile ingredient used in various culinary preparations. It is commonly enjoyed raw in salads, where its peppery flavour adds a zesty kick. The leaves can also be lightly wilted or sautéd, which reduces their spiciness while maintaining their distinct taste. Rocket is a popular addition to sandwiches, wraps, and pizza toppings, providing a fresh and flavourful element. In addition to its taste, rocket is also appreciated for its nutritional value. It is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as folate and minerals like calcium and potassium. Furthermore, rocket contains antioxidants that contribute to overall health and well-being. With its vibrant flavour and health benefits, rocket has become a favoured ingredient in many cuisines. Its distinctive taste and versatility make it a delightful addition to dishes, allowing for a burst of peppery goodness and a touch of sophistication in both simple and elaborate recipes.
Growing Instructions:
1.Lay a thin layer of moist coco peat and perlite mixture in a tray, about half the depth of the tray. Mist the surface of the grow medium.
2.Cover the surface area with seeds. Roughly 10 grams for a standard 27x53x3cm grow tray.
3.Press down firmly and mist with water.
4.Add another tray (preferably without holes) on top of the seeds. Add a thin tile or small stone for additional weight. This helps to form strong roots and get rid of unwanted seed hulls.
5. Seeds are mucilaginous (having a viscous or gelatinous consistency) so dont worry about them sticking to the top tray
6.Keep wet with a spray bottle until all seeds have germinated. Remove top tray and flip over to place greens into blackout. This helps the stems to lengthen.
7.After about 1 or 2 days place the tray into light. This could be into artificial light, sunlight. An exposed windowsill will work just fine.
8.Make sure they have enough water each day. They should be ready between 12 and 14 days
